Soft, buttery and gently savoury — a comforting Alpine washed rind that is just as good melted as it is on a cheeseboard.
Fleurs des Alpes is made by Fromagerie Verdannet in Haute-Savoie from pasteurised cow’s milk. Its golden washed rind surrounds a soft, milky paste that becomes increasingly creamy as it ripens.

Expect warm cream, butter, hay and a gentle savoury finish. The rind adds a light farmyard aroma without making the cheese aggressively strong.
Serve at room temperature with bread, potatoes and cornichons, or warm the whole cheese and spoon it over boiled potatoes. It is also excellent in tartiflette-style dishes.
Dry Alpine whites, Jura Chardonnay, Jacquère or Savagnin-style wines balance its richness nicely.
Acidity and crunch work especially well with the savoury washed rind, with a little fruit for contrast.
