Chloe's Festive Five

CHLOE'S FESTIVE FIVE

We asked our cheesemongers what their ‘must-haves’ are at Christmas time. Chloe is our first cab off the rank this week and this is what she said.

  1. Ortiz White Anchovies (Boquerones)
Being half Polish, at home we celebrate Polish Christmas which is a get together called Wigilia on 24th December. Traditionally, we have 12 different dishes and no meat but lots of fish. So, in honour of this tradition, I choose white anchovies or as I call them boquerones. Plus, they’re a little fancy treat.

  2. Montgomery's Cheddar - Neal's Yard Dairy
Being that I'm from the UK, you have to have an English cheddar at Christmas time – it’s a non-negotiable! I'm excited it's arrived just in time for Christmas.

  3. Tracklements Christmas Spice Chutney
This spiced chutney reminds of something my mum would have had at home over Christmas time.

  4. Eric Bordelet Sydre Argelette Cider
Apples and cheddar are natural friends and I’m stepping it up a notch choosing this elegant cider to wash down the cheddar.

  5. City Larder Traditional Pickled Onions
You gotta plan for Boxing Day with all the leftover meats, cheeses and so on. At home we would traditionally have ‘pickley bits’ and play Cluedo as a family, This year I'm going full Aussie and we're off to the cricket.
