ALEX’S FESTIVE FIVE

When we asked our cheesemongers what their ‘must-haves’ are at Christmas time this is what Alex said.

1. Pennyweight Constance Fino
   Coming from regional Victoria Christmas has always been scorching hot, similar to Jerez in Spain. We like to start with a dry aperitif-style sherry as we usually begin with fish or cured meats, nuts & olives and this fino is perfect for that.
   
   
2. Tracklements Strong Horseradish Cream
   This is always in my fridge and is great with City Larder Chicken Terrine, mackerel/sardines, with most leftovers, in sandwiches or even mixed through mayonnaise for potato salad - so versatile.
   
   
3. Bret's Fromage du Jura Chips
   For the V-Line train journey between the folks, these chips can’t be beat.
   
   
4. Long Paddock Cultured Butter
   This seriously good butter from Castlemaine once tasted can’t be forgotten.
   
   
5. Onetik Ossau Iraty
   As Tina Turner declared - simply the best!
